Not to mention that by implication the Silence now seem incredibly incompetent.Įveryone is being really silly about this. Instead we got years of online speculations, no firm answers and the way the silence were handled one season later made matters infinitely more complicated. Would have worked much better if we got a reasonable explanation right there, like River crashing into a rare space time event or causing a time paradox because she travelled to the date of Amy's marriage which was also the date of her conception, or something.
Throughout the season they tease about the silence and the doctor at one point literally says that the question on how the tardis blew up will be solved another day, and yet Moffat in the years after it never came back to it until a throw-away line over three years later. What it did not well in my opinion is the inclusion of the Silence. It's not so much an arc as an in-universe teaser preview of the season finale.

In the Angel two parter we learn that some crack are also emitting time-erasing stuff, in Cold Blood we learn that it is related to an enourmous explosion and that it involves the Doctor's tardis, and then in the season finale we learn how it all came to be and the Doctor solves it. In Eleventh Hour we learn that they connect pieces of space and time that weren't meant to touch, and tells us that we don't yet know where the cracks come from.

You can add the black shadow free hand or use masking tape again (but for that you’ll have to wait until the grey paint is completely dry or you can put the masking tape over it.) Whenever removing the masking tape don’t let it dry completely or the paint can crack.The cracks themselves were pretty good. If you put some white paint on the edges of the tape, it’ll look cleaner when dry. Mask the outlines of your crack with painter’s masking tape. Try it on the wall or on a piece of paper, wet paint looks so much different from the real colour. This wall-tattoo foil has some advantages: it has a clean and high-quality look and you can remove it without residue. Then you can place the whole crack properly on the wall later. Putting all the pieces together is much more easy when you do it still with protective paper on the foil. It’s not exact, sometimes its thicker sometimes smaller. To make the crack-effect more obvious I’ve added a small line of black over the grey. With a good quality foil the cuts are barely visible. I haven’t used a long piece of dark grey, there are many smaller pieces put together.
I’ve used adhesive foil in dark grey and black (you can find that in your craft store or somewhere in the deep dark pits of the internet).
It matches the width of the IKEA shelf beneath.
Crack in time doctor who series#
This awesome series is not commonly known in Germany (and the hipster-me is kind of glad about that), but I know there are many many Whovians out there who will enjoy this post! I can’t imagine how I can survive this time without the doctor… again, year after year… And I’m in a nervous state of waiting for the 50th. I still haven’t recovered yet from the season final.
